Durham School for Girls opened in August 2019 with the biggest enrolment of a new school in Qatar of 570 Girls. Year 13 students started in 2022 with an expected growth to 1200 students.

Early Childhood Teacher

Saigon Kids Early Learning Centre, are looking for an exceptional Early Childhood Teacher, for our youngest learners 18 month to 2.5 years to join their well-established school team for an January 2024.

The successful candidates will be qualified Early Childhood teachers with: 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • 3 years of experience (Testament of employment).
  • Experience in play-based learning or the desire to learn more about it and embrace the philosophy.

About
The centre provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on what they believe to be the best practices of International Education Systems. Their philosophy, curriculum and teaching practices are inspired primarily by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy; as well as The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (The EYLF); and TeWhāriki, The Early Childhood Curriculum of New Zealand.

The role
The teacher will notice, recognise and respond to the learning that is occurring as children play and explore their environment. The teachers will be encouraged to follow a play and emergent approach to curriculum which motivates children to engage in learning and allows for the acquisition of skills and knowledge in meaningful contexts. They will be committed to providing safe, nurturing and exploratory learning environments in which children can grow with love and care.

  • An appropriate university degree and teaching qualification
  • EYFS English National Curriculum is essential
  • At least 2 years’ experience of teaching English National Curriculum (adapt per role – experience IBDP etc.)
  • A passion for teaching and learning and a drive to achieve high standards for all
  • To be an advocate for student wellbeing and involved in the pastoral care system
  • Excellent understanding of SUBJECT and how students learn SUBJECT
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • A solid understanding of and use of ICT in the classroom.
  • To be a team player, motivated by the challenge of achieving the vision of the department and the school.
